The non-profit organizations have greatly supported a lot of people. What would have become of the world without these organizations?

But, before we go any further, it is important to understand what an organization is and how it relates to the non-profit organization.

What is an organization?

By definition, any gathering of people, who are aiming to achieve a well-defined goal or objective is called an organization.

Since humans are social beings, we can easily say that a formal relationship of any kind can be referred to as an organization.

You will always find the division of work among members or staff and a pursuit of the goal of the business or organization.

What are Non-profit Organizations?

An organization set up for the sole purpose of achieving its goal without ultimate focus on making profit is referred to as a non-profit organization.

Most times, the non-profit organization doesn’t share income among its members. This is why a non-profit corporation is commonly referred to as a ‘non-stock corporation.’

• Foundation –the size of a foundation and level of operation depends on the endowment of the founder.

It should also be noted that it is expected for a non-profit organization to remain focus on the mission for which it was created and to avoid delving into pursuing profits.

In today’s global world, there is more need for non-profit organizations because of the need to support the younger generation especially children as well as help those who have been displaced by communal crises.
