One fan has been killed in Argentina's open-top bus parade with police attacked by missile-throwing thugs
This has left a five-year-old in a coma.
La Albiceleste won the World Cup having defeated France in a shootout. After leaving Qatar, they went out on the town in an open-top bus to display the trophy for the delight of onlookers.
It's estimated that more than five million people flocked to the streets of Buenos Aires, the nation's capital, to see the winning team.
According to local sources, the toddler was struck by a chunk of marble that apparently fell from a statue during the festivities. Following the event, the five-year-old is currently receiving intensive care.
One man leaped in successfully into the open-top bus, but the other failed and slammed into the back of the bus before falling to the ground head first.
As chaos swiftly erupted, the team was transferred to Argentine Navy helicopters where they were flown the remainder of the way before returning to the headquarters of the Argentine Football Association in Ezeiza.
